  • Our 12-week writing classes support students who struggle with essay writing

  • Writing full-length essays, step-by-step, will give students practice with the essay skills they need

  • Students get active engagement in small classes

  • Students will examine introductions, thesis statements, textual evidence, and in-depth analysis

  • All classes include specific, ongoing teacher feedback
 
  • Classes may include:
    • Grammar Structure
    • Writing Fundamentals
    • Essay Basics
    • Test Prep Fundamentals: Grammar and Rhetoric
    • Literary Analysis: Writing Focus
    • Literary Analysis: Russian Short Stories
  • Our 12-week reading classes are offered at multiple levels to accommodate all types of learners

  • Students will learn the tools and strategies they need to succeed in not only their high school English and History classes but also their future college courses

  • Classroom discussion and debate in small classes provide students with the opportunity to enrich their learning with active engagement

  • Students will read and respond to fiction and nonfiction texts

  • All classes include intensive, context-rich vocabulary study with regular tests to build their word power

  • Students will be able to build their cultural literacy skills—their knowledge of mythology, history, and society—with direct instruction and practice
